Day 2: The Power Of Brand Messaging

Week 1: Building Your Brand And Creating Awareness

Brand messaging is not just selling a product or service. It is conveying what your brand is, what it believes, and what it is trying to change.

The nine components

  1. Mission
  2. Vision statement
  3. Values
  4. Positioning statement
  5. Differentiators
  6. Value propositions
  7. Voice
  8. Slogan
  9. Elevator pitch

Each one, with Alchemist Nation as the worked example

1. Mission. Your reason for existing. Alchemist Nation's is "We Invest in Motivated People, through providing Training and Inspiration."

2. Vision statement. The future you are trying to create. Alchemist Nation's is "A world where money is not an issue, where people can focus on abundance."

3. Values. The beliefs that guide your decisions. Alchemist Nation's include Abundance, Leadership, Choice, Happiness, Energy, Manifest, Integrity, Success and Truth.

4. Positioning statement. Who you are, who you serve, how you serve them. For example: "For individuals seeking financial freedom and abundance, Alchemist Nation is the community that provides training and inspiration, backed by our core values."

5. Differentiators. What sets you apart. Alchemist Nation is not a financial training platform but a community, built around teaching financial education and personal responsibility.

6. Value propositions. The concrete benefit you offer. Members gain training and join a community that promotes abundance and encourages everyone to take responsibility for their own outcome.

7. Voice. The personality in your messaging. Alchemist Nation's is empowering and direct: action, responsibility, and shaping your own path.

8. Slogan. A short phrase that carries the essence. For example: "Become Your Own Alchemist, Shape Your Destiny."

9. Elevator pitch. One tight statement about your brand, built from your positioning statement with your differentiators and value propositions either side of it.

Why it matters

Imagine Hamlet without "to be or not to be." A brand without strong messaging is a story missing its theme. Your messaging is not words on a page, it is the thing people recognise you by.

Action steps

  1. Write down your brand's purpose.
  2. Draft your mission, vision and values.
  3. Work out your positioning statement, differentiators and value propositions.
  4. Decide on your voice.
  5. Write a slogan.
  6. Write an elevator pitch.

Review, refine, and check every word against what your brand actually is.

The two brand guideline PDFs below, created by Krystal Dixon, are worked examples you can model.
